This Privacy Policy explains how Ubeni LLC ("Ubeni," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use Futurely, including our iOS app, website, and related services (collectively, the "Services").
1. Eligibility and children
Futurely is not directed to children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to use Futurely. If you are under 18, you may only use Futurely with permission from a parent or legal guardian. If we learn we collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Futurely, we may collect:
- Account information such as account identifier, sign-in method (Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or email/password), and email address.
- Profile data such as name, profile image, date of birth, birth time, birthplace, timezone, gender, relationship status, job, manifestation interests, chosen tarot deck, and app preferences.
- Subscription and purchase status information from Apple In-App Purchase receipts and entitlements.
- User content such as prompts, messages, reading inputs, saved and daily readings, daily intentions and Manifest Today activity (including streaks), vision boards (titles, descriptions, tags, goals, and the images you upload), AI conversation context, AI memory (if you enable it), and saved content.
- Friend-sharing data for manual sharing features, including friend connections and favorite friends, shared readings, group readings (including cards pulled, questions, and comments), birth information shared with friends, and related metadata.
- Social and user-generated content such as public vision boards (titles, descriptions, tags, and vision previews), comments you post on vision boards, likes and favorites, vision board collaborations, group readings, your display name and profile photo as shown to other users, and — if you keep Online Status turned on — a recent-activity indicator visible to friends.
- Moderation data such as reports you submit about content or users, and the list of users you have blocked.
- Camera and photo data: the camera is used only to scan a friend's QR code to connect (scans are not stored), and photos you choose from your photo library are uploaded when you add them to vision boards or set a profile photo.
- Technical and operational information such as device identifiers, push notification tokens, service logs, feature usage, request counts, rate-limit windows, cache/generation status, timestamps, App Check attestation signals, and abuse-prevention signals.
3. Sensitive profile and AI context data
Some information in Futurely may be sensitive or personal in nature, including birth information and free-text prompts/messages that can contain personal context. Please do not submit sensitive personal information unless you are comfortable with it being processed as described in this Privacy Policy.
Birth information may include date of birth, birth time, birthplace, timezone, and astrology-related profile or chart information derived from those details. If you add or accept another user as a friend, your birth information and related astrology profile details may be visible to that friend or used with that friend connection to provide compatibility, reading, relationship, and other social features. You should only add or accept friends if you are comfortable sharing this information with them.
4. AI processing and OpenAI usage
Futurely uses AI services, including OpenAI, through Ubeni-managed backend systems. To generate responses and personalized features, your prompts/messages and related profile context may be processed by our backend and sent to third-party AI providers. AI-powered features include tarot readings and chat, daily reflections, Manifest Today, your onboarding letter from your future self, starter vision boards, group reading insights, birth chart readings, Energy Match, and Life Cycles insights.
When you add images to vision boards, we may use AI to generate short text captions and tags describing the image so features like Manifest Today can personalize your experience. Futurely does not use AI to generate images; vision board images are provided by you.
If you enable AI memory, Futurely may retain and use summarized context from your activity to personalize AI features. You can turn AI memory on or off in the app. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, biased, offensive, or unsuitable.
5. Firebase, Firestore, and cloud infrastructure
We use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Messaging, App Check, and Google Cloud Functions (and related cloud infrastructure) to run account, storage, image hosting, notification, and app backend features.
6. Usage limits, security, and abuse prevention
We may use operational information, including account identifiers, endpoint or feature request counts, rate-limit counters, timestamps, cache status, generation status, App Check signals, and service logs, to protect Futurely, apply usage limits, control costs, prevent abuse, detect suspicious activity, debug reliability issues, and enforce our Terms. These records are used for service operations and are not intended to reveal the substance of your private prompts beyond what is otherwise processed to provide AI features.
7. Subscription and purchase information
Futurely is offered through a subscription paywall selected during onboarding. Subscription options may include $6.99/month with no free trial or $49.99/year with a 1-week free trial for eligible users. Payments are processed by Apple, and we use Apple's App Store Server API to verify subscription status and entitlements. We do not receive full payment card details.
8. How we use information
We use information to provide and operate Futurely, including to:
- Authenticate users and secure accounts.
- Provide AI features and personalize app experiences, including daily rituals like Manifest Today.
- Support subscriptions, entitlements, and customer support.
- Enable manual friend-sharing functionality, including friend connections, compatibility features, shared readings, group readings, and birth-information-based social experiences.
- Operate social features such as public vision boards, comments, likes, and vision board collaborations, and notify users about relevant activity (for example new comments, friend requests, group readings, collaborator edits, and reminders such as lunar phase events).
- Review reports, enforce our Community Guidelines, run automated moderation checks on user-generated text, hide content from users you block, and keep the community safe.
- Maintain reliability, prevent abuse, and improve product quality.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
9. How we share information
We may share information:
- With service providers that help us operate Futurely (for example Apple, Firebase/Google Cloud, OpenAI).
- With other users when you manually share content with friends or when you add or accept friends in features that share your name, profile photo, gender, chosen tarot deck, birth information, and related astrology profile details.
- With other users when you publish a public vision board (visible in Explore and to anyone with the link), post a comment on a vision board, comment in a group reading, or collaborate on a vision board. You can choose whether your name and profile picture are displayed with a public board.
- With collaborators you invite to a vision board, who can view and edit that board's content.
- When required by law or legal process.
- To protect safety, security, and rights.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or asset transfer.
10. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as needed to provide the Services and comply with legal and operational needs. Some data categories are automatically removed after 30 days by daily retention jobs (for example shared reading inboxes, community question submissions, generated home question feeds, and friend request records), and certain lunar event records are removed after about 45 days. Persistent user data such as saved and daily readings, vision boards, Manifest Today history, group readings, birth chart data, Energy Match data, and Life Cycles data is not auto-purged by these retention jobs and remains until you delete it or delete your account.
We configure operational logging to target retention of no longer than 30 days, subject to cloud provider log bucket settings.
11. Account deletion and de-identification
You can request account deletion from within the app. When deletion is processed, we delete account-linked data we control, including your profile, vision boards and their images, comments you have posted on vision boards, shared readings, group readings you hosted, and friend connections, and we delete your authentication account, subject to legal and backup constraints. Limited content you contributed to other users' experiences (for example a comment inside another user's group reading) may persist with that user's content. We may retain a de-identified record that an account was deleted for operational and legal purposes.
You can manage friend connections in the app. Removing a friend may limit future access to birth information and related profile details shared through friend features, but it may not remove information the other user already viewed, captured, or saved outside Futurely.
12. Your choices and controls
- Online Status: turn off the recent-activity indicator under Settings → Account Settings → Data & Privacy → Online Status.
- AI memory: turn AI memory on or off in the app.
- Blocked users: block users from their profile or content, and manage the list under Settings → Account Settings → Blocked Users.
- Vision board visibility: set each board to private, friends only, or public, and add or remove collaborators at any time.
- Notifications: manage push notification permissions in iOS Settings.
13. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information, including request attestation (App Check) and rate limiting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
14. U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on your U.S. state of residence, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, and other privacy controls. Contact us at support@futurelyapp.com.
15. International users
Futurely is initially intended for users in the United States. If you access Futurely from outside the U.S., your information may be processed in countries with different data protection laws.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date.
